The Appeal
A VW Splittie is all about adventure. It’s a point firmly proven by this beautiful turquoise and white ‘63 T1 which has explored all over the UK - without issue - and featured in weddings and even an advert for delicious Ardbeg Whisky.
To deliver all that, it has been carefully and sympathetically improved across the mechanicals, running gear and interior. The oily bits include a rebuilt 1,600cc air-cooled motor and upgraded suspension. You’ll find Red 9 Design front suspension, a fully independent rear set up. There are disc brakes all round, rack and pinion steering and a rebuilt IRS gearbox.
The van has been maintained in line with obvious investment in the specification. This includes servicing every 1,000 miles and it comes to market fresh from an oil and filter change and checks across the brakes, timing and valve clearances.
Then, finally, there is the condition. Just have a look at the photos - this is one gorgeous van. Beyond the stylish exterior, you’ll find a high-specification cabin with rock and roll bed, 21in TV plus wifi and a full five-seat layout with seatbelts for all occupants.
Whether you’re interest is sparked by the spec, the style or the condition this is a genuinely impressive van. It is naturally MOT exempt but as it is an indication of the seller’s meticulousness that it has been put through a recent MOT test that now runs to August 2025 without advisories.
As pretty as it is drivable, this van would work very well as a family holiday wagon or there is obvious commercial potential.
