The Attractions

Sports-oriented saloons were all the rage in the late 1970s and early 1980s. High-performance versions of the four-door BMW and Mercedes were being produced in Germany, but Alfa Romeo was no exception, offering cars that have remained in the hearts of enthusiasts such as the Alfetta. Featuring a transaxle transmission on the rear axle inspired by the Alfetta 159 F1 car of the 1950s, the new Alfetta Tipo 116 became famous for its excellent road-holding. Performance was impressive thanks to the proven Nord twin-shaft engine, while the design was the work of legendary designer Ivo Colucci.

This 1980 example, with its 1.6-litre engine, looks extremely original and in excellent condition for its age. We are told that after the gearbox, a weak point in these cars, was thoroughly overhauled, it drives very well.

Accompanied by extensive documentation, this Alfetta is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
