The Plus

In 1980, if you were looking for the best saloon in the world, this was it: the Daimler Double Six Vanden Plas. Even 12 years after its launch, the Jaguar XJ still set the standard for refinement and luxury, outperforming its rivals from Mercedes-Benz and Rolls-Royce. None of them were equipped with this V12 engine.

These qualities made the Double Six a popular choice among collectors. The Vanden Plas was the most expensive version, equipped with high-quality wood and leather trim. This car is in a sought-after colour scheme with a medium metallic blue and cream leather interior.

This is clearly a restoration project, but as a solid and complete car it makes an excellent introduction to the world of the Double Six. Useful spares will no doubt help with this project, which could leave the buyer with a high quality car when the restoration work is complete.
