The Attractions
The Series III was destined to be the last evolution of the leaf-sprung Land Rover and, while the unmistakable lines of its bodywork would also be adopted by later models, this model represented the end of an era for a design dating back to 1948. The later Series IIIs, with their classic five-bearing engine, are the final evolution of the original Land Rover concept, making them a must-have for any 4x4 collector.
This 1983 example is a particularly desirable variant, a short-wheelbase station wagon with a ventilated safari roof and resplendent in its sought-after 'Pastel Green' colour scheme. This Land Rover has received considerable restoration work, including a complete body repaint in its original colour and an engine overhaul in 2023.
It retains its original features such as the safari roof and numerous attractive details such as the yellow lettering on the wings and Lucas headlights. Recent mechanical work means it drives well both on and off-road, making it a practical and attractive proposition for any Land Rover enthusiast.
