The Appeal

The AMG-fettled R230s are the supercars you can happily live with every day. Viscerally quick, versatile coupé-to-convertible hard tops, reliable as only a Mercedes-Benz can be and supremely comfortable.

This SL55 puts 500bhp beneath your right foot via its AMG-tuned 5.4L V8. It is a very low mileage car - under 59,000 miles from new - that wears its 21 years very lightly across the very rare pearl blue metallic paintwork (officially known as Telurium Silver) and grey leather interior. It is a high-specification car - there is a panoramic roof, massage seats and a COMAND sound system with Bose speakers - that has been well maintained by its quartet of keepers.

The condition is reflected in a long, advisory-free MOT to October 2025. This is a very tidy and highly presentable example of a superb supercar.

"Rare Pearl Blue Colour stands out from the standard silver, its truly stunning. Very few were painted in this rare colour as it was a very expensive extra at the factory. This mileage, very low ownership with its provenance is a truly exceptional find – one certainly for the collectors.

"There are far too many on the market that have been used, abused and handed on every six months (with 10 plus owners) – this certainly does not tick any of these boxes, quite the opposite. A rare gem to say the least. This machine has been sparingly used which is illustrated in the extremely low mileage. It has been MOT’d every year and has spent most of its life in a heated dry garage which boasts why there is zero rust in, on or under the car. The common rusty wheel arches that the SL55 AMG’s are plagued with is not a area of concern on this machine. It is zero rust on the car, in the car or under the car backed up by the MOT history- see pictures."
