100% factory German built and UK supplied in Right Hand Drive format. Confirmed by the original M code plate still intact and in its original location on the bulkhead denoting ‘EN’ for England (meaning supplied from new). Original VIN plate also present in correct location confirming factory identity type as ‘23’ which is for ‘Kombi’ as these buses are commonly known. Ticks every box in terms of provenance from factory which has a big impact on future resale value!
This bus is without a doubt one of the finest we have ever seen and the only one of its kind on the market currently. It is very rare that us or anyone gets an opportunity to sell a bus of this standard, a nut & bolt restoration completed to a level that bus enthusiasts are forever looking to achieve but very rarely do and the difference here is it is actually done and ready!

The bus has been stripped to bare metal and the entire shell carefully prepared inside and out in as thorough detail as we have ever seen. The entire shell has been primed and repainted in original 1960s VW colours, ‘Titian Red / Beige Grey’. These are iconic and highly desirable colours that we get a lot of requests for when building a bus to order. The entire underside of the bus has been finished in body coloured paint to match the top half so you can see every single piece of metalwork in its entirety including the original factory chassis welds that are in perfect condition. Original steering wheel wonderfully detailed and resplendent in two tone colour scheme to match exterior paintwork (Never seen this done before and it looks remarkable). Completely unspoilt dashboard with original gauges and radio present. No nasty cut out holes as so many buses have had done over the decades. Absolutely everywhere you look is superb from lifting the cab floor mat, bottoms of all doors, door shuts, engine bay etc. Not a stone left unturned.
Brand new 12V wiring loom and fuse box. Narrowed original front beam, IRS (Independent Rear Suspension) and gearbox allowing for a far more comfortable ride than original and higher top end speed, Reconditioned 1600cc Twin Port Engine running good ancillaries.

Interior - we have decided to leave the interior as a blank canvas for now to allow the new owner to decide exactly what specification / layout they would like. At this point we will then build a brand new bespoke interior to suit your exact requirements and install it to the van within the agreed sales price. We specialise in bespoke interiors for these buses and have completed hundreds throughout the years. Please see our website for further details of what we do and example pictures are attached to show a few ideas of what is possible. This arrangement works best as it allows you to apply your personal stamp with regards to all soft furnishings, layout, appliances etc. and also proves categorically that you will be the very first to use the brand new interior. This is effectively as close as you can get to brand new for a vehicle that is 55+ years old!
