Description
1971 Aston Martin DBS 6cyl auto owned by me for the last 19 years.
Stunning in Aquamarine, turns heads wherever it goes.
Thankfully, the car remains in a largely time-warp, nicely mellowed unrestored original condition. A car only remains original once.
During my ownership it had work done to the sills and outriggers, I had the car cavity-waxed for long-term rustproofing.
also new stainless steel wire wheels and new avon tyres were fitted.
In January 2020, a new stainless steel fuel tank was fitted and a general once-over amounting to £5000 was carried out.
In May 2022, a new fuel pump was fitted and various sundry works carried out.
More recently the carbs were professionally rebuilt and tuned and the power steering was overhauled.
Prior to my ownership, the engine had been rebuilt using Cosworth pistons and the car pulls really well indeed, better than the Vantage spec !
The DBS used the same 6 cylinder engine as the DB4/ 5/ 6's but is far rarer than these with only about 400 examples left in existence.
For some reason (probably a typo from the DVLA) this example is registered as a DB5 on the logbook !
Noteworthy is that this car was used in the 2015 blockbuster film Moonwalkers starring Rupert Grint, Ron Perlman, James Cosmo and Robert Sheehan. Many photographs are included in the file.
