Description
K reg Softail. Built to be ridden
Cast Shovelhead wheels and converted to triple disc with three Performance machine calipers and braided hoses
Lowered the front end by about 1/ 2 an inch with progressive springs to tighten up the handling which stops any hint of shake when you take both hands off the bars.
6 gallon tanks with Panhead dash. You can have the standard ones if you like.. I have just welded on tabs and fitted metal vintage badges so has fresh paint.. will share pictures if you're interested.
I ditched all the chrome bling from the guards for a cleaner 50's look.
EV27 cam with new bearing
Hi4 ignition
S&S adjustable pushrods
S & S steel breather valve
S&S Super E carburetor
Triple disc with Performance Machine classic four pot calipers (why do heavy Harley's have one puny disc up front?)
Chain conversion
Scottoiler
Stainless nuts and bolts.
Lockhart oil cooler and thermostat
Custom dual seat and single saddle if you want it.
LED old style tail light
Just fitted hard lockable saddlebags taken from an FLT with fresh black paint and powder coated handmade brackets..... not in photo's.
I have a NOS Shovelhead screen I bolted on a few months ago.. not sure if I like it tho' it goes with the bike..... Engine and box rebuilt with new seals and gaskets. New mainshaft, seal and bearing etc as it now has chain drive.
Runs strong .. stops great.. not huge miles since work done and new clock fitted as the tripmeter bars keep snapping..
I can send you a video of them all running if you have WhatsApp...
This old girl was built to comfortably eat miles and really needs to be use
I talked Lou Trachtenburg over at STD to make up the generator style EVO cases. This was back in the very late eighties... and they don't make cases any more.
The closest to this would be an S & S Pan... very expensive and the quality control isn't what it was.
We just had Matt's machine shop line red, for the cam bush.. and build the bottom end using a high velocity S & S Shovel oil pump and new crankpin .. plus all new seals, bearings and bushings.
Edgar built the motor and it's very sweet and just run in.
I may sell the other set of cases or I might finish another motor as I have all I need for another full engine... drop me a line..
I believe he only cast a five sets. I ran one in a rigid frame years ago.. not sure where that bike ended up.. though like I say, I have one more set to build another "special"
I know one set is still going strong in Ventura Ca. .. and I sold my chop to a bloke in the UK running another set..
They are generator/ alternator style bottom end made to take Evo tops and will take big bore barrels. I have matching Sputhe "kidney" cam covers designed to take points/ electronic ignition... and they aren't making any more!
