The next owner from 1991 was the President of the UK Studebaker Owners club. The car came into my hands a few years ago and needed some recommissioning work as it had not been driven much in the past ten years.
I have a good collection of Studebakers from 1933 to 1988 and am the Editor of the Studebaker Owners Club UK.
I do almost all of my own mechanical work and have owned and driven Studebakers in 3 of the countries around the globe where I have lived, including North America for the past 37 years and have driven all types of Studebakers hundreds of thousands of miles in my time.
Recommissioning work in the last few years included, all brakes, brake hoses, shock absorbers, A arm bushings, Outer Eccentric A arm assemblies, fuel lines, heater hoses, window assemblies removed, rebuilt and greased, some door rubbers changed and a multitude of little jobs.
This car has been restored to be a great driver. In overdrive the car is not revving hard at 70mph due to the tall differential gearing. In previous years this car has been taken to Studebaker car shows over Europe including Switzerland.
The paint is still excellent and chrome work and stainless steel trim more very presentable and mostly original.
The original lady owners details and last 1980 Texas registration slip is included along with many MOT's from 1995 to present. Various UK V5 documents showing the cars 3 UK owners including myself.
The current V5 registration document is in my name.
All of the UK owners of this car have been serious Studebaker people who owned many Studebakers in their collections. I have 19 collector cars, most of which are running and it's time to move a few on and come down to a reasonable number for a change.
This is a sensational car in a condition that won't disappoint. All the major work has been done to this car that will let you drive this car for many years to come.
In my experience, it is always hard to find well prepared, functional and very original cars here in Europe. This is one of them.
