Great Looking 65 Mustang Fastback - 289 - C Code
Presenting very nicely indeed, in the ultra rare correct factory colour Dynasty Green - with full option list.
This car features the factory Deluxe Interior Pony Trim, Full Length Console, Power Steering, Backup Lights, Radio, Ford Rallye wheels (not those shown). The original Air Conditioner is still fitted and looks very nice, albeit no longer plumbed in.
Under the hood we believe it is likely the original motor. There is an ID tag on the intake that was normal to fit on early cars, but too dirty to read at present and generally we would pull the starter motor to view the block date stamping. You will see the original gold Air Cleaner and Valve Covers, and on the right hand shock tower the original sticker is still applied indicating to us that the engine bay area is original. It shows recent new drive belt, water pump, starter motor, 2 Barrel Carb and HT leads etc.
The inner fender top has the factory production stamp as is the original VIN tag on the driver door shut.
It is a very straight body and the shuts/ gaps are good.
The car has a number of other upgrades such as Shelby Hood Scoop, performance headers together with a relatively new twin exit stainless exhaust that sounds very nice, LED rear lights, attractive 7" headlights.
We have taken a look over the car and it does need some work underneath. It requires ideally new long floor pans + extensions, (the previous owner has fitted short pans on the inside of the existing!). Inner Apron panel on the passenger wing and battery tray, which is very common on all early Mustangs as the batteries over the years leak acid and corrode through. Both short rear chassis rails and trunk drop offs. WE HAVE ALL THE PARTS AVAILABLE FROM OUR STOCK THAT CAN BE WORKED IN AS PART OF ANY DEAL
The car will be supplied with the original 14" Rallye Wheels similar to last picture.
We have other cars going through the shop right now, and this may offer a more cost effective option for someone else to enjoy carrying out the works in their own time and saving money.
This vehicle is being offered "as is" , alternatively we can take care of the works detailed at an additional fee to be discussed.
