Description
SLJ Hackett are delighted to offer this 1952 Bristol 401.
Spencer Lane-Jones began to restore the car earlier this year, so far they have completely stripped the car, rebuilt the front suspension, rebuilt the steering rack, cleaned, rebuilt and painted rear axle assembly (axle casing and half shafts), ran the engine on the test bed with great success and began rebuilding the rear suspension. Due to unforeseen circumstances the restoration ceased, around £15, 000 has been spent so far.
Registration: NWX 6
Chassis Number: 4011122
Gearbox: BWCR / 5 / 80
Engine: 85C
The engine 85C engine was rebuilt by TT Workshops in 1994 covering very little millage since then due to long storage spells, as mentioned the engine runs very well but will need the coolant system flushing (block and cylinder head).
This was a complete running car prior to the beginning of the restoration and all of the parts to rebuild the car are present.
