Description
One of the lowest owner and most comprehensive history E Types in existence.
This excellent example has formed part of my own personal collection for the last eight years, when I purchased it from a friend a collector of some of the most exquisite vehicles in the world.
It has been a joy and honor to part of the history of this car and it been used on dry and fine days for long trips and even the school run and trips to Sainsbury's
Just returned from being on loan to Jaguar as part of a display of their most iconic vehicles.
This original and most desirable right hand drive Series 1 E Type Roadster was delivered new by Henlys of London on the 22nd January 1962 to Mr William Alderton of Hertfordshire, and has subsequently just four owners and at time of print one of only twelve 1962 cars that have survived.
Complete with a comprehensive four inch thick history file which includes the original buff logbook and a fresh Heritage Certificate issued by Jaguar.
It also includes the most detailed and dated itemization of the restoration that was carried out between 2001 and 2003 with only 7, 000 miles travelled since and has been stored in a professional storage facility. The condition of the car today is a testament to the quality of that restoration work.
During this restoration the car was painted in Metallic Dark Blue in tribute to the famous Ecurie Ecosse machines and the interior was trimmed in tan leather to a extremely high standard. The roof was also replaced at this time.
Some recent expenditure includes new exhaust manifolds, carburetor overhaul and some general fettling maintain its excellent running.
A unique opportunity to purchase what is the most desirable model of what is deemed the most beautiful car ever made.
