Honda XL250 Motorsport, 1974, a rare UK V5 registration bike on the 14/ 06/ 1974, a cool looking motorcycle owned for nine plus years, with five former owners, it's half a century old now.! the details below
I've the v5 and a few receipts regarding parts purchased etc, no service book came with the bike but who cares about that after fifty years.!
The frame, swingarm. seat base plus many other parts have been powder coated with the correct Honda decals applied, plus new paintwork on the petrol tank, front and rear mudguards & headlight shell, new chroming on some items.
New seat cover fitted, one wheel with replacement bearings.
Black and white numberplate as tax exempt
New Pirelli MT43 Trails tyres from Classic Enduro.
Inner tubes, rim tapes, stainless steel wheel spokes at great expense with Steve at Wheel Wise engineering.
New 6 volt battery, oil change, spark plug, air filter, coil / HT lead , ignition switch with two keys.
brake light switches, heavy duty chain etc.
MOT & road fund licence exempt, which's a bonus.
The front and rear lights work, along with the indicators, brake light switches work with the hand & foot lever, plus the horn along with the display clocks lights etc.
Temperamental starter, this fired up into life today by bump starting it on the second attempt, rode for 15 odd minutes in a field, switched it off and then i kicked it over but no joy, so not sure what the problem is, it's a 1974 wiring loom so perhaps this needs updating after nearly fifty years in my opinion on the electrical side.
I've a video with it running, the price is firm ish based on what's been spent out on the above works, one sold at Fins for £4995 in recent times and that was not as nice as mine.
