Description
At the beginning of 1971, the Mercedes 280 SL (“Pagoda”) was still selling well. But the sports car, designed at the end of the 1950s, was getting on in years. Its successor, the 350 SL of the R 107 series, appeared in April 1971. Equipped with a V8 engine and a modern, innovative body, it was successful for a very long time. It was no secret that there would be a whole V8 family. For the important export market of the USA, the 450 SL was immediately equipped with the engine with the largest displacement. This engine had large reserves and was considered to be particularly durable. 66, 298 units of this model were delivered. With good care, these classics are built to last.
Our Mercedes-Benz 450 SL Roadster was delivered in the USA and converted by a specialist firm after its return to Germany. The air conditioning, often a weak point in this series, is in working order and the interior has been correctly renewed. You can start immediately with this classic car and have lots of driving fun.
