Description
Volkswagen Transporter Type 26 Double crew cab manufactured on 2nd July 1968 in Germany and destined then to be registered in Nuremberg. It was originally ordered by the dealer with some lovely additions:
Volkswagen factory stamped Emden radio with VW stamped into the turn knobs
207 option Tilt and bows though please forgive that there is now 1 missing (these are solid wood and can easily be made)
504Option are the in tact fresh airs vents and this would have been the rudimentary air conditioning that we all take for granted in today's VW T6's!
This model is a true cross over from the Split Screen to Bay window which means that many physical parts were also fitted to the Split Screen earlier models.
The engine is 1585cc 48 BHP 85. 5 bore 69 stroke with a Pierburg 2E2 carburettor. You can watch Dave go for a spin in the video.

This is one of the last surviving truly original cabs including the interior which sports the manually reclining turn knob drivers seat.
Vehicle comes with a quality camper cover and would make a great advertisement for any business. Great patina. I'm restoring my 84 DOKA to try and win the German DOKA show 9pictured) so Dave needs a new home.
