Description
Built 1936 this SS80 was dispatched from the Hayden Rd works 7th Oct. 1935 to local Nottingham dealer Hooleys Garage which was just 2 miles away ! the bike being first registered Jan. 1st 1936. The early history was not recorded however an original RF 60 buff logbook from 1954 shows the bike in Coventry and staying in the north of England until 1969.
Brough Club records show it was sold in 1981 with a spare engine no. 4467 it is this motor that the bike carries today ( acquired from a later 1937 SS80 frame M8/ 1781 ). Thought to have been restored in the mid to late 1980’s the bike was acquired by a BS Club member in 2022, it was subsequently recommissioned by marque specialist Simon Miles who fitted a centre stand, reconditioned the original fitment Druid front forks and serviced it. Following this bike has been in regular use including the Brough Club Peak District Rally in May 2023.
Retaining its original registration number of BTV 466 the bike is supplied with a small history file and UK registration documents. In great running condition it recently completed the Brough Club Spring Rally ( 2024 ) covering some 200 miles.
