Description
In 1951, the 100-year-old Glas agricultural machinery factory in Bavaria became a manufacturer of motor vehicles. It began with the Goggo scooter and the Goggomobil. A small car that was built over 210, 000 times between 1955 and 1969. Further developments followed: Glas Isar, Glas 1004 to Glas 1304 and finally the Glas 1700, a mid-range competitor to BMW. The top model was the marvellous Glas 2600 coupé with a V8 engine. However, the upmarket models and unprofitable production led to heavy losses. Eventually BMW bought the over-indebted company and for a short time, July 1966 ? September 1967, the Glas 2600 V8 model lived on. Between June 1967 and May 1968, a further 389 units were built as the BMW Glas 3000 V8. The engine now had a displacement of 3 litres.
Our BMW Glas 3000 V8 Coupé is a real rarity. It was first registered in Braunschweig/ Germany. The large V8 coupé has always been technically well maintained and the body, engine and gearbox have been overhauled. With the BMW Glas 3000 V8, we are offering an extremely rare classic luxury-class coupé.
