Description
The development of a new Rolls-Royce model always took a long time. After all, a new Rolls-Royce should remain in demand for a long time. Here are the dates of the Silver Spirit and Silver Spur: development from 1972, presentation in 1980, built until 1998. The new bodywork was clearly structured and was characterised by significantly larger windows and a low waistline. The technology underwent only cautious changes. No more was necessary, as the engine, transmission and chassis of the Silver Shadow II were still up to date. The Silver Spirit was available and the Silver Spur with an extended wheelbase. This variant was also used for special bodies. Although there were no longer as many body manufacturers as in the 1960s, there were no limits to expensive special requests.
Our Rolls-Royce Silver Spur Landaulette is such an elaborately hand-built special body. In the past, this body shape was particularly favoured when passengers sitting in the rear needed to be seen. This is why these vehicles are often used for prestigious occasions and weddings. It is a sublime feeling to be chauffeured in this way.
