Description
The 450SEL 6. 9 was presented to the public at the Geneva Auto Show in 1974 as the successor to the original high-performance saloon from Mercedes-Benz, the 300SEL 6. 3 (1968–1972). Like the 300SEL 6. 3 before it, the special displacement number (6. 9) was affixed to the trunk lid to differentiate itself from the 450SEL. The 450SEL 6. 9 was produced in very limited numbers from 1975 to 1981.
We are delighted to offer for sale, this very nice example of this rare and collectible 1977 model.
Finished in thistle green, with contrasting velour interior, this lovely car has been the subject of an extensive restoration which includes full respray, engine service, suspension rebuild, and works in excess of 20k spent. She comes with a considerable file of paperwork, and service records, and still has her original owners manual, radio, and a tremendous presence that is hard to find in later cars. The 0-60 of 7. 2 seconds, is certainly capable of bringing a smile to your face, even for a car of close to 50 years since launch.
She is ready for the next owner to take her to the next level, which is reflected in the asking price. These are a rare find, and will make a great investment going forward.
