Description
Launched at the 1967 London Motor Show, the MGC was the British Motor Corporation’s replacement for the Austin Healey 3000. Based on the sporty % popular MGB, it was powered by a newly developed six-cylinder engine shared with the Austin 3 Litre.
This particular MGC came to us after being with another company for a few years. They had started the restoration process but were not moving the project along fast enough for the owner who had received the car in payment for an outstanding debt. He decided to get it restored so he could enjoy high days and holidays out in the car with his wife.
There was still a considerable amount of work left to do when we received the car. We set about getting it completed so that he would have chance to drive it before his failing health meant he was not able to get anymore enjoyment out of the car.
It was a pleasurable day when we were able to get him sat in the car and go for a quick blast up the industrial estate – the smile on his face was priceless for all concerned.
The car was completed and delivered back to the customers home in late 2022, unfortunately his health has deteriorated so badly that it has not been out of his garage and his family have taken the tough decision to sell the car and have asked us to market it for them.
There is a comprehensive pictorial history along with invoices for the work carried out by us. As you can see, the car is absolutely top drawer in every aspect – the engine and gearbox perform well and it’s a nice lively car to enjoy the driving experience. From a cosmetic perspective, the paintwork and interior make for a really eye-catching classic British sports car ready for the next owner to get full enjoyment out the car in the years to come.
