The Porsche 911 Type 993, the last of the air-cooled era, was produced between 1993 and 1998. The 993 was the fourth generation of the Porsche 911. Its front wings were wider and noticeably flatter. The Targa model was launched in 1996, with a panoramic sliding glass roof that opened smoothly at the touch of a button and retracted behind the rear window. For the first time, this new Targa concept offered the pleasure of open-air driving without fundamentally altering the roofline of the classic 911 coupé. Just over 4, 500 Porsche 993 Targas were produced between 1996 and 1998. The one we have for sale is a magnificent example that was delivered new to the Netherlands in June 1997 in a very special and rare colour: Aventura Green. This metallic paint is a muted mid-green with a subtle touch of blue-grey, which exudes sophistication and makes this car an exceptional choice for Porsche enthusiasts. Purists will also appreciate the manual transmission, bearing in mind that the 993 was the first generation 911 to be fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.
