Description
Speedbroker are delighted to offer this late (2005) Porsche 996 Turbo S. Becoming a very rare sight on UK roads, this limited production vehicle is offered in the very desirable slate grey, with very low mileage and a fantastic history record. With the 996 increasing dramatically in notoriety and popularity, this flagship vehicle in our opinion offers an excellent ownership and investment prospect to all discerning Porsche enthusiasts and collectors.
The 996 Turbo was actually a huge step up for Porsche, from the fact the switch was made to water cooling and 4WD from previous generations. In 1999 Porsche further developed its GT3 model as a homologation. To justify the cost of production they took this engine, modified its internals to cope with increased boost levels and bolted on a pair of turbochargers. The 996 turbo was born. At the time of production this was a serious performance machine. But to some, still not enough. The X50 package was offered as an option on the Turbo that introduced K24 turbos and larger coolers, a revised ECU and exhaust which raised power to to 450ps.
So, what you are looking at here is the Turbo S, in essence a turbo with an X50 package as standard, PCCB (Porsche carbon ceramic braking) and a plethora of options.
This particular car was registered on the 29th July 2005 and has 6 previous keepers. The current vendor took ownership of the car in March 2018- 6 years as custodian, fully HPi clear and in exceptional condition throughout, with only very small blemishes (extremely in keeping with age, mileage and enthusiast ownership). Bear in mind, this is a 2005 vehicle, with the manual 6 speed Getrag gearbox, in a highly desirable colour combination. With its rarity and specification we have confidence this is one of the very best currently available and a dream for a collector.
