Description
This MG TD MkII is in excellent restored condition and is ready to be shown at this seasons classic car shows.
It is the fourth and last of four MGs we have collected from the executors of the estate of a classic car restorer with an MGB GT, an MGB Roadster and a 1957 MG Magnette already sold.
It is one of approximately only 1710 TD/ C Competition models produced of which most were exported new to the USA. The enhanced specification of the MkII includes larger 1 ½ " SU H4 carburettors, twin fuel pumps, bigger valves, increased compression, high performance Andrex friction dampers and a higher final drive ratio.
This example was originally exported new in 1952 in LHD form and was repatriated back to the UK in 2000 where it was fully restored and converted the RHD by the deceased restorer.
It was then registered to him at the DVLA and given the registration number WSL445.
The first UK MOT certificate from April 2001 shows that the milometer had been reset to zero when it was restored as the mileage reading was only 4 miles. The current mileage reading is 5339.
The history file contains the current V5, two previous DVLA V5s and a series of 11 previous MOT dating back to 2001.
The car is now MOT exempt.
It will be taxed for 12 months for the new owner as it qualifies for free historic road tax.
Prospective buyers are welcome to come and view the car by appointment in our Leeds showroom.
