Description
When the Bentley S and its sister model, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, were presented in 1955, both were an immediate worldwide success. As the old six-cylinder engine had reached the end of its development, work on a new design had already been going on for a long time. The new V8 aluminium engine was introduced in 1959 with the Bentley S 2. Significantly more torque even at low engine speeds was impressive. However, there was also criticism that the old six-cylinder engine was quieter. There were also special models again as sporty Continental versions, but only 128 Flying Spur limousines were built by H. J. Mulliner.
Our Bentley S 2 Continental Flying Spur limousines were delivered in 1961 and registered in the UK. It has been in a German collection for many years, has been treated with care and driven little but regularly. In 2023, the classic car underwent an extensive technical overhaul at a specialist workshop in northern Germany. Bentley Continental vehicles have always been something special, stable in price and sought-after over the years.
