Description
Aston Workshop are delighted to present for sale this 1968 Aston Martin DBS, which is an ideal basis for restoration. According to the original build sheet for the car, this DBS was allocated by Aston Martin for use on their Earls Court Motor Show stand. The car recently arrived at Aston Workshop in 'Barn Find' condition, and would be a fantastic DBS on which to build your dream Aston Martin. Originally Burnt Almond with White Gold leather, the car was originally sold as a Borg Warner Automatic with Power Steering, Front Seat Belts, and a Motorola Radio. The conversion to manual utilised an original ZF 5-speed gearbox.
A series of recommissioning works have already been completed on the car, with new sills and outriggers as part of a thorough chassis repair. It has had an overhaul of the braking and suspension systems as well as inside the engine bay, and we believe it is now in a prime position to be taken on by a new owner and completed as a wonderful, drivable DBS. We have inspected the car, and can confirm the engine runs, the gearbox is in full working order and the car is in a drivable condition.
The DBS featured in the only James Bond film starring George Lazenby as the international superspy, ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’, elevating it to the level of fame reserved for Bond vehicles only. Interest in the DBS has been rising steadily amongst Aston Martin collectors for some time now, and this car represents a fantastic opportunity to build someone’s dream Aston. Sold “as-is”, we can also advise on the steps required to finish the car or offer our services in building a beautiful DBS including:
Transmission conversion, with modern swaps or the original gearbox options.
Engine upgrades to larger capacities.
Handling improvements including suspension and brake upgrades.
Interior retrims.
