Description
NEW ARRIVAL - ONE PREVIOUS OWNER FROM NEW This TR5 - Chassis No: CP2192 and Engine No: CP2192 is a 'Matching Numbers' car and was sold new to a Mr Albert De Sousa in Forest Hill, London SE23 and first registered on 23rd May 1968. After almost 20 years of ownership in 1986, Mr Sousa enlisted Triumph specialist TR Sports Cars in Mitchum, Surrey to carry out a full 'body-off' chassis restoration of the car and he also had the colour changed from its original Triumph White to Signal Red. The restoration took 2 years and all invoices for the works are contained in the history file and the full cost of this restoration came to just over £10, 500, which was quite a substantial sum back in 1988. After this, the car was maintained and serviced by Cox & Buckles Workshops in Wimbledon and TR specialist Enginuity in London until we sold it for him in September 2005 to the current and second owner and the mileage then was a genuine 62, 715 miles from new! The current French owner purchased the car from us on the 28th September 2005, when he was still living in London, and paid the princely sum £16, 995 and the car was taken back to his home in France a year or so later and registered there, but it was not officially exported as it still retains its UK registration number HST 201F and is still recorded on the DVLA database. During his ownership of 19 years, it has only been driven a further 2, 121 miles and it has now covered 64, 836 miles from new, and it has been regularly serviced with various works carried out including a new wiring loom and other ancillaries. The car is finished in Signal Red with the original Back leather seats which were in the car when we sold it to him plus a black interior, Walnut Dashbord, Mota-Lita Steering Wheel, Chrome Wire Wheels, Surrey Top with both Hard and Soft panels, Bosch Fuel Pump, Kenlowe Electric Cooling Fan, original 2. 5 litre Straight Six Fuel injected Engine and 4 Speed Manual Gearbox. Unfortunately, the car has developed a few cosmetic paint issues since he bought the car 19 years ago and we will be attending to these during our preparation of the car for the showrooms. Structurally and mechanically it is excellent and it will be fully serviced and MOT'd by Enginuity in Acton, London W3 before sale. A full set of photographs and a video will follow upon completion of our showroom preparation. Please note, the photographs shown are from 2005 apart from the one with the French number plates on.
