*** DEPOSIT TAKEN*** Lotus Elan Sprint DHC (Sprint 5) 1974 Correct Factory Type 45 fully restored believed to be a factory supplied 5 speed gearbox car (unfortunately no paperwork from the factory or dealer of the time to confirm 100%). Low mileage, factory Yellow. All previous owners have confirmed the car whilst in their ownership has been a 5 speed car. The panel fit and body work/ fittings are exemplary. The Elan Sprint was fully restored from the ground up approximately 20-25 years ago by the well known team, Ken & Neil Myers and paintwork by Paul Mason, possibly the best restorer of Lotus using a Lotus chassis. The same team that was involved in the seven Lotus Elan cars including the now famous 1966 Elan S3 DHC used by Diana Rigg as Emma Peel in The Avengers TV series back in the mid 1960's which came to Silverstone Auctions, Race Retro in February 2023. This Elan now being the most expensive Elan sold at £168, 000. Neil Myers will be happy to confirm the above 5 speed aspect of the car and its restoration.
The Elan Sprint has been in dry storage for 12-14 years and has recently been removed and has had a comprehensive recommissioning. Engine tune, mechanical check over and detailing with fresh MOT and is now ready to be enjoyed used and cherished. New Dunlop SP 'AQUA JETS' of the correct size have been fitted as well as special order Burr Walnut dash made and fitted. Solid drive shaft conversion with reduced droop shock absorbers and springs. All flexi rubber hoses have been converted to Aeroquip flexi hoses all-round as well as alternator conversion.
The Elan Sprint is a late factory standard car with big valve engine, 5 speed gearbox, Lotus chassis and correct Chapman steering wheel, Sundym glass (option), mirror, trim etc. C/ W history, hand book with 5 speed supplement, Lotus Certificate of Authenticity.
It is great testament to the skills and work of Ken & Neil Myers & Paul Mason that the whole car and paint/ body work has retained its condition to the present day. Possibly one of the best restored Elan Sprints available on the market today. Excellent value at £47, 995.
