Description
The 328 GTS and the 328 GTB with fixed roof represent the final development of the 2-seater and transverse V8 engine series. The number 328 refers to the total engine displacement of 3. 2 liters and the 8 cylinders. This new model was presented at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show with the Mondial 3. 2.
The new model is a revised and updated version of the 308 GTS, which has survived for eight years without undergoing any radical changes to its form, despite the many changes made to the three-liter engine.
Thanks to Hawaii’s favorite mustachioed detective, the Ferrari 308 became really popular. It is now considered for what it is: the Ferrari that brought the Prancing Horse to the masses. But those little wheels and high tires look a little small by today’s standards, and most variants of the 308 really weren’t very fast. The 308 has long been praised for its excellent handling and brakes, but the 9+ seconds it takes the original 308 to reach 100 km/ h isn’t exactly exceptional.
If you want the classic look of the 308 but with more performance, you should go for a 328. Magnum purists will note that it’s not exactly the same model, but your neighbors won’t know the difference and you’ll be able to enjoy more power!
The 328 simply offers more engine than the outgoing 308. The 308 Quattrovalvole, the last model to wear the 308 badge, produced 240 horsepower from its 3. 0-liter V8. A shift to 3. 2 liters, a higher compression ratio and more aggressive camshafts allowed the 328 to develop 270 horsepower, a high figure for the time. Road tests at the time showed a zero to 100 km/ h time of 6. 0 seconds.
This example is in exceptional condition and has no defects: the car was repainted in 2016, the interior redone in 2018 (including the roof). It is equipped with new tires, a stainless steel BFR exhaust and the last maintenance was done less than a year ago. The belts are from 2020.
Even if the history of the car is incomplete, it has only 35, 730 km.
