Description
Chassis: 200/ 12/ R
We are delighted to bring to market a front-running giant killer that is to FIA specification, having previous copies on file.
This car, rebuilt by Roger Dunbar at Elva Racing and then thoroughly campaigned by Hilton Jonhson of Montreux, Switzerland, has an impressive racing history. It became the Historic Swiss Champion and finished 4th in the European Championship, with numerous podium finishes at circuits and hillclimbs, earning it a place of pride in the classic car community and it was featured in a 3 page article of Motorsport magazine.
The updated specifications at the time stated a full-race MGA engine with a 45DCOE Webber carburettor, close-ratio gearbox, magnesium alloy race wheels, and a long-range fuel tank.
Recently, The Elva took part in the VSCC Pomeroy trophy with Christoff Cowens of Fiskens at the wheel. It was prepared for the last round of the 2023 FISCAR's 50's sportscar championship, but due to a last-minute co-driver cancellation, it did not compete.
It had most recently been under the ownership of Brazell Engineering Limited; specialist race prepares of the most prestigious events in motorsport(Goodwood, Monaco, Le Mans Classic etc)
They fettled with the car, replaced fuel pumps and lines, and renewed the fire extinguisher and race harnesses, alongside some general cosmetic works. It is eligible for many championships FISCAR, VSCC and Equipe GTS etc.
Since acquiring the vehicle, we have been in contact with Mr Dunbar at Elva Cars, who has kindly provided photos of the restoration that was carried out.
A fantastic opportunity to enter historic racing at an affordable price.
