Description

Beautiful and very Rare RHD, 1964 Split Screen, 21 window VW Samba Deluxe (Alpine) Microbus with 1970 Yvonne Mostard Caravan

Condition - USED, LOVED, DRIVEN AND ENJOYED

1st year of the 21 Window Samba!

It's all about the windows. Each Bus was specifically named based on the windows. The basic 11 window bus was called the Kombi or Microbus. The 13 window bus was named the Deluxe Bus from ’64-’67. Prior to ’64, it was a 15 window bus. In 1964, the first 21 window Samba was produced until 1967. Prior to ’64, the 23 window Samba had 2 small curved corner windows in the back of the bus which were deleted in ’64 and replaced with a large canvas sunroof on the roof of the Deluxe Bus. The Samba/ Alpine buses have 8 additional skylight windows embedded in the roof for extra viewing, which were specifically marketed for touring the Alps, hence ‘Alpine’. Today, the 21 window Samba Deluxe is now the most highly sought after and most collectible VW Bus in existence.

These iconic buses rarely come up for sale; finding one in as good condition as this is a rare opportunity indeed.

This particular Samba Deluxe was purchased by the owner of Classic Porsche specialist Export 56, Mick Pacey in 2011 as a family weekend fun bus. He very quickly added a very cool 1970 Yvonne Mostard Caravan which amazingly was in similar condition to the Samba, beautifully original and blue over white. What's even more impressive is both vehicles have retained so many of their original features.

We have travelled over 10, 000 miles during our ownership and have the most amazing memories and during that Period our Beagle, Bruce was always first in the van for an adventure. Sadly Bruce passed away in May and driving the Deluxe no longer feels the same so it’s time to pass this piece of history on to someone new to enjoy the next phase of its life.

The previous owner, like us drove and enjoyed the Samba and told us the Samba has been an incredibly reliable and lived up to its design and throughout his 5 years ownership toured throughout the Alps without a single hiccup.

1970 YVONNE MOSTARD CARAVAN

This rare Yvonne Mostard Caravan like the Deluxe Samba is beautifully original and still retains all of its original features. These pretty Dutch built caravans weight 750kg unladen.

This is an original four berth caravan with a double bed, one single and its original hammock above the single. It retains its original blue and white striped pop roof, original cooker, sink, original tables, wardrobe, cupboards which makes this completely unique and in great condition which pairs it extremely well to the Samba Deluxe.

This must be one of the most unique bus/ caravans in the UK and being original RHD. The Samba Deluxe left the factory in probably the best colour combinations, Sealing Wax red over Beige Grey.

Please note, this is not a concours lawn vehicle it has been used, enjoyed and well maintained. Paint looks good and presents really well. No signs of rust or accident damage.

The bus is serviced and ready to use.

Both the caravan and the Samba are supplied with lots of additional camping equipment, accessories, tools, spares, far too much to list.

We can deliver if required.

Please call to discuss price as a good home is more important to us than achieving the asking price.
