DESCRIPTION
The Series 1 Escort RS Turbo was carefully developed by Ford’s talented Special Vehicle Engineering team, Built at Fords Saarlouis plant in Germany
The RS Turbo was designed to set new standards in Group N and Group A events, and was quickly dubbed the car to beat. Ford planned to build 5, 000 RS Turbos, the minimum number required for homologation in Group A,
The car was greeted with enthusiasm and was only sold through official Rallye Sport dealers.
EXTERNAL
With being a legendary Series 1 Rs Turbo In original condition as Ford intended the Diamond White paintwork (Code B3) looks fantastic with a bright uniformed panel shine.
All panels are pin straight and the extroverted body styling and large spoilers are fully intact and present very well. With colour coded bumpers and front over riders along with a laminated windscreen its as original as the day it left the Ford factory
The unmistaken Rs aerodynamic spoilers standing large and proud along with its legendary Rs decals and unmistaken front Ford spot lights, Remote control colour coded door mirrors and colour coded ‘Orion’ front grille complement
Rs mud protector flaps fitted all round which shouts the 'Rallye' physic all are in the very best of condition
INTERNAL
Open the drivers or passenger side door on this RS Turbo and originality shouts out at you. Finished in original two-tone grey Monza crushed velour (Code HC) the seat pads and figure-hugging bolsters are very firm and in excellent condition
The door cards are in original condition as Ford intended and the thick pile grey carpets have been protected from new by genuine Ford rubber floor over mats
The original perforated headlining remains fully intact along with the interior equipment all being fully functional along with internal trim pieces Including the rear parcel shelf with the genuine Ford factory fitted speakers inset
The correct Ford SRT32P stereo's fully operational, The RS 3 spoke steering wheel, cigar lighter, rear ashtrays, front door stowage bins, 3-speed heater fan, coin box, radio cassette, speaker joystick control, trip recorder, tachometer, roof mounted digital clock all original and perform as Ford intended.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Engine bay area has recently undertaken a full 'detailing' ensuring it remains pristine clean, This echo's the fastidious attention to detail this example oozes along with ensuring originality has been preserved at all times
Fords 1596cc turbocharged Compound Valve Hemispherical chamber (CVH) unit, producing 132BHP at 6000rpm, is mated to the Bosch KE Jetronic Fuel Injection System
Turbocharged power delivery courtesy of a Garrett T03 turbo, the car accelerates smoothly to a maximum speed of 125mph and achieves 0-60 in 8. 2 seconds. A slightly larger bore exhaust is fitted that sounds glorious

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Having original 15 X 6 inch RS seven spoke alloy wheels in immaculate condition along with having the correct factory stampings on the three spokes of each rim
Matching Michelin Pilot 195/ 50/ R15 tyres in modern fitment with plenty of tread. Diagonally split hydraulic circuit brakes with 240mm ventilated discs up front and 203. 2mm rear drums bring the car to a steady controlled halt.
