Description
The Mercedes-Benz W 113 SL series, popularly known as the ‘Pagoda’ after the shape of the hardtop, has been around since 1963. From the 230 SL to the 250 SL, the optimisation was the 280 SL.
Our Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Roadster, built in 1971, is one of the last examples built. Delivered to the USA, the classic car has been in Germany since 2004, where it has been thoroughly restored to a high standard. Since then, it has clocked up around 15, 000 kilometres. Extensive invoices and receipts have been available since 2011. The special feature of this roadster is the six-speed gearbox, an ingenious combination in conjunction with the original American rear axle ratio. Here, driving becomes an experience, especially in today’s road traffic. The maroon paint colour in combination with the cream leather interior is very rare. With the attached hardtop, you suddenly have an extremely elegant coupé.
