For sale here is probably the best MGB that we have owned or offered for sale. 1966 football mania hits England, while the rest of the country was celebrating Mr. Charles Beamish was purchasing his brand new MGB roadster from a London dealer. Mr. Beamish ordered his new car in Old English White and configured to Left Hand Drive. He then drove the car to his residence in sunny Spain were he loved, cherished and drove the car on a daily basis. Come forward to 1973 and Mr. Beamish decided to let his nephew Peter Austin purchase the car from him. Peter drove the car back to the UK were he kept and drove the car until around mid 80s when he decided that the car deserved a thorough going over. The engine was sent to Oselli were it underwent a full rebuild including a stage 1 head, balanced crankshaft, flywheel, pistons, con rods etc, heavy duty bearings were fitted along with a lightened flywheel. Later SU carburettors were fitted along with a Kenlow fan. Sometime in the late 90s early 2000s peter decided then to convert the car to Right Hand Drive and decided at that time to have the car finished in the beautiful Black colour that it is today. The bodywork was commissioned to Autospray in east Sussex and to be fair the workmanship on the body and paint has stood the test of time and looks like it was just done yesterday. A brand new set of Chrome Wire Wheels set off the car. To say this is one of the best MGs that I have driven is not doing it justice, there is not a rattle or a squeak on the car, the engine pulls like a train and sounds superb, overdrive, brakes etc all work as they should. Peter sold the car due to health back in 2021 and Mr Clive Formston who purchased the car only covered around 600 miles since his ownership, he has passed the car on due to family matters. The car really needs to be seen and driven to appreciate the quality, if someone is looking for a classic that they can just jump in and enjoy and also enter in to shows this could well be the car for them.
We have a very large file of records, receipts etc along with the original owners book.
