1968 British Racing Green MGB Roadster
Finished in British Racing Green with Black leather.
This remarkable car has had just one private owner since new, that’s an incredible 56 year ownership!
In that time the MGB has been cherished and impeccably maintained and has covered an ultra low 33339 miles from new with a total service history as well as a hand written log of all expenses.
We sell a couple of hundred classics a year and would very seldom come across a more genuine and low mileage car than this.
Over the years the car has remained wholly original and has never been restored, a few additions have been made, firstly the owner originally lived in London before moving to Norfolk and he was paranoid about the car being stolen so he fitted a later style ignition switch under the steering column and a steering lock.
He also added an amp meter, hazard warning lights and a smiths quartz clock which we have invoices for in 1970
The hood is original which is a rare in itself and there is also a hood cover as well as a full tonneau cover which has never been on the car in 56 years!
Later style inertia reel seat belts have been fitted for comfort and safety but we still have the dealer fitted lap belts.
The original tools and Jack and tonneau sticks are all with the car including the appropriate bags.
Apart from a refurbished set of original painted wires with new tyres all we have done is given it a light clean but we will fully service the car and provide a new mot upon sale.
Everything works as it should, it drives superb, the paintwork and chrome shine up beautifully, the underside is solid and has benefitted from regular underseal / waxoil all of its life.
Under the bonnet it won’t win shows as it is original but to change it would lose all of its originality and charm !
A couple of other lovely original features are the floor pans still have the chassis number stamped in them, this is something we have never seen before and the original rubber matting style carpets are still in site and in perfect condition.
