Description
Debuted in 1966 at the Turin Auto show, the Pininfarina designed (And later manufactured) 124 Spider is a convertible sports car that was built for both road and rally between the years of 1966 and 1985 - And this particular recently restored car pays tribute to the rally heritage and success of the model, while remaining a beautiful and usable classic, in search of it’s new home!
Recently fully restored by a Fiat enthusiast, this California car now represents one of the best Fiat 124’s in the UK - A car that is beautiful, understated and classic in design, but with subtle tweaks to make it easier to live with and enjoy day to day.
Exterior
The exterior and bodywork of the vehicle is in exceptional condition - There is no damage to note, All trim pieces and badges are present and correct, in excellent / new condition. The paintwork is genuine ‘Fiat Azzurro Cappellini’ blue throughout, with the bonnet, tailgate, and trims wrapped in satin black to replicate the original Fiat rally cars of the era (These can be removed if preferred). The hood has been replaced, and shows no sign of aging / cracks, as does the rear windscreen. Underneath the car is as clean as on top, with all components in good condition and showing no signs of age or corrosion. Glass is all in unmarked condition, with no chips or scratches. Externally, a unique and striking car in perfect condition!
Interior
The exceptional condition of the vehicle extends into the interior - All trims are correct and present without damage, the seats have been retrimmed and show no wear, and everything works as it should. Inside, a ‘retro modern’ headunit retains the original feel, while offering conveniences like bluetooth connectivity and DAB. Period correct Abarth touches including steering wheel and gear shifter and to the interior. The car was converted to RHD throughout the restoration for ease of use here in the UK
Mechanical
Like the exterior and interior, mechanically this car is second to none other on the market - The car fires into life almost immediately, the clutch is responsive and everything feels tight and well dialled in. With the roof open, you can enjoy the driving experience even more as the responsive engine builds and the stainless exhaust can be heard unfiltered! Brilliant thing to drive with the perfect power to weight ratio, and size to move around the roads.
