Description
Here is a very nice 1973 chrome bumper MGB GT, 4 speed manual with overdrive and with just 2 former keepers and a believed genuine mileage of 40k miles. Recently fully recommissioned after many years of storage it has had a full engine rebuild, brake overhaul, fuel system overhaul, single 12 volt battery conversion, electronic ignition, rebushed suspension etc, etc!
The bodywork is in excellent order with no rust issues, even on the wing beading and there are no obvious signs of previous welding. The floors, sills, wheelarches, doors, tailgate are all excellent and paintwork has a very nice shine to it. It has chrome Rostyle wheels with five new tyres and a stainless steel exhaust system that sounds great!
The interior also presents very nicely, the seat covers have been renewed with leather and new carpets fitted, otherwise it all looks very original.
Mechanically all is in very rude health as well, the engine (barely run in) has plenty of torque, the gearbox and clutch work as they should and the overdrive clicks in nicely. The ride is very tight with no clonks or bangs. No clonks from the rear diff or from the steering and the ride over the bumps is very good.
Comes with a collection of receipts for work carried out during the recommission.
Overall this is an excellent MGB, not a concours car but one that is ready to be used and enjoyed with no rust concerns and in mechanically very nice order.
