The GT3 Club Sport was a very special model that collectors are now waking up to. They were fitted with a Mezger M96/ 79 dry-sump engine which featured forged pistons and titanium con rods. The crankcase was from the GT1 and this was mated to the G96/ 90 6-speed gearbox from the 993 GT2. The Club Sport models also featured a single-mass flywheel for quicker engine response. Other Club Sport specific items includes high back Nomex bucket seats, roll cage, 6-point racing harnesses and a battery cut-off switch.
There are 16 Porsche main agent and specialist service stamps in the original service book logged at 4, 740, 7, 566, 8, 643, 9, 719, 15, 960, 17, 823, 21, 402, 23, 372, 23, 911, 24, 398, 25, 809, 26, 102, 26, 336, 27, 612, 28, 573 and the most recent at 28792 at Porsche Centre Norwich.
It is believed that there were only 106 C16 RHD UK Mk1 996 GT3's built, with only 28 of these being the more sought after Club Sport variant.
