The car was built by Messerschmitt from 1953 to 1956 and by Fahrzeug- und Maschinenbau GmbH (FMR) between 1956 and 1964. The prototype was developed by Willy Messerschmitt and Fritz Fend in 1952 and presented at the Geneva Motor Show in spring 1953 as the KR 175. The cabin scooter was available in 4 versions: the KR 175, KR 200, KR 201 and the Tiger TG 500. According to the documents available, the Messerschmitt KR201 Roadster presented here was completely restored by the specialist Oliver Herbolzheimer (Radsatzwerkstatt) in Oldenburg. In the course of the restoration, the car was fitted with an original seat system in imitation python from a Tiger Roadster TG 500, the only Messerschmitt version with 4 wheels. In this context, the adjustable backrest of the driver's seat from the TG 500 should be emphasised.
