Description

Alois Barmettler, who had already manufactured and sold buggies under the Beach Buggy brand between 1962 and 1966, founded Albar in Buochs, Switzerland in 1978 and began producing cars that were available both complete and as kits
The company produced buggies and coupés based on the VW Beetle, initially on the original chassis but later, lattice frames were used
This four-seat LWB Buggy S was based on a 1200 Beetle floor pan and retained its original 1974 UK registration
Believed to have been built in the early 1980s, it's been thoroughly restored by our vendor
Having scratched that itch, he now needs space for his next project
Beach Buggies are timeless and despite being designed and built over 20 years after the first examples appeared, this Buggy S has all the original appeal
It's guided very well, considering it's from the pencil of Alois Barmettler, a man who was involved with Beach Buggies from day one
