Description
Born of an agreement between Fiat and Ferrari, the Dino engine series was initiated by Enzo Ferrari's son, Dino Ferrari, in 1956, who was never able to see his project through to fruition, having died prematurely of a genetic disease.
In order to obtain Formula 2 homologation for the Ferrari Dino 166 F2, a minimum of 500 Dino engines had to be built quickly, so alongside the very sporty and expensive Ferrari Dino versions, the 206 GT, it was decided to build more affordable versions under the Fiat name. The only similarities between the Ferrari Dino 206 GT and the Fiat Dino were the Ferrari V6 engines, and the car we are presenting today is a Fiat Dino Coupé 2400 first registered in 1971. It was acquired in Germany by its current owner 6 years ago. Following a restoration some ten years ago, the aesthetics of this Dino are remarkable and the paintwork is still bright. The chassis is in perfect condition and shows no signs of corrosion. The Ferrari V6 engine starts as it did on day one and an electronic ignition has been fitted. An overhaul of the engine will be carried out for the sale.
The interior is in generally good condition, the fabric seats are comfortable and have no tears, only the floor mat on the driver's side is in poor condition. This Dino is accompanied by a clean MOT, its French registration document and its invoices and restoration file. Jolivel Automobile, Classic - Sport - Yountimer specialist.
