Bristol never made a 406 Drophead- this is it!
The Bristol 406 uses the BMW-derived 2. 2 litre, six cylinder engine, up from 2. 0 litres in the 405, and has a four speed gearbox with overdrive. Disc brakes are fitted all round.
Bristol offered a 405 Drophead which are sought after, but did not continue convertible offerings with the 406 model.
Foremost Bristol specialists Spencer Lane-Jones started the project to create a convertible 406 and professionally designed and constructed the car over a 4 to 5 year period, selling it on through Andrew Blow in 2014 when it was ready for a new owner to decide colour and trim.
A long time Bristol enthusiast took on the build and over the following seven years, using SLJ, Heseltine Carp and other specialists, constructed this magnificent vehicle with critical attention to detail and the goal of producing a vehicle to, at least if not better, manufacturer standards.
The bodywork is beautifully crafted with fine paintwork and the interior and hood have been expertly trimmed to a very high standard. The engine is fully rebuilt and the running gear, suspension and brakes have been refurbished as required including the ENOTS system which works correctly.
The 406 is a full four seater machine and is virtually as new throughout having had a thorough and detailed restoration to an exceptional standard. It offers an interesting and special alternative to a 405 Drophead at an attractive cost.
Utterly gorgeous and unique.
