Description
Chevrolet Camaro Z28 V8
In 2018, Mrs. Stretton sought assistance from Mr. Drabble to find a Z/ 28, leading them to discover an exceptionally pristine, low-mileage model originally sold by the renowned Camaro racer, Mr. Graham. This Z/ 28 is a rarity, characterized by its originality and minimal use. Out of the 7199 produced by Chevrolet in 1968, only a few hundred survive. Introduced in 1967 as Chevrolet's contender against Ford's Mustang, the Z/ 28 stood as the apex of the Camaro series.
This car, was manufactured on 10th April 1968. It features a manual transmission, a black bucket interior, and a British Green exterior, just as it is currently. The vehicle is a full matching numbers car, authenticated by a heritage certificate from the Classic Camaro Club.
After its importation to the UK, Mr. Graham sold it in January 1974 to Mr. Sumner, a pub owner. By the mid-70s, Mr. Graham had gained significant success in Group 1 Touring Cars with a Camaro, winning the high-capacity class in 1974 and 1975, and securing third overall in the BTCC. Mr. Graham and his brother, Mr. Graham, were well-known traders of American cars.
MOT documents reveal that by June 1975, the mileage was 15, 900, which increased to 19, 267 by October 1976. Mr. Sumner preserved the car predominantly as a showpiece.
In 1986, Mr. Sumner sold the car back to Mr. Graham, who then passed it on to Mr. Price. Mr. Price, familiar with the Grahams from their Rolls Royce days, owned a paint shop and had previously painted their racing vehicles. He restored the Camaro meticulously, including a full bare metal repaint, while keeping its original rust-free body and interior intact. Mr. Graham confirmed this to Mrs. Stretton after her purchase.
Mr. Price owned the car for 32 years before selling it to Mrs. Stretton in 2018. At that point, the car had only 21, 000 miles, with Mrs. Stretton adding another 2, 000. Under her stewardship, the car has been impeccably maintained, making it not only flawless but also immaculate.
Amari Supercars is now selling the, this presents a remarkable opportunity to acquire what Octane Magazine in March 2023 described as possibly "one of the most remarkably untouched examples of a 1968 Z/ 28 to be found anywhere – including the States."
