Description
For sale, Daimler Ferret MK2 in Desert Sand (1959).
Rolls Royce B60 Petrol Engine. MOT & Tax Exempt. Only 3964 miles from new. Fully Rebuilt to a High Standard. 50 Calibre “Dummy” Machine Gun. Working “Push to Talk” Radio System.
We are delighted to present for sale this previously fully rebuild 1959 MK2 Daimler Ferret, which has covered just 3964 miles from new. This is one of the finest Ferret Armoured Scout Cars that we have ever seen – and the photos speak for themselves.
Included in the sale is a brand new, fully mounted 50 calibre “dummy” gun with pintle, so it looks just as it would’ve during service. It benefits from MOT & Tax Exemption and can be driven on a standard license too. Thanks to a pre-selection gearbox, meaning you select the gear and then press the clutch pedal, this is also very easy to drive – far less difficult than one might imagine. As the photos show, it is good both externally and internally, and still carries lots of its CES gear including the “push to talk” radio system to allow communication between the driver, passengers and gun operator.
All in all this is an increasingly rare vehicle in great condition, that will only prove to be a sound future investment in our view. And with low miles, interesting history and few owners since release, it’s a rare surviving example.
If you have been looking for a Daimler Ferret for any period of time, you will no date be aware that they have become very valuable in the last 5 years – and this, being a very high end example, is no exception. As such, you are welcome to make an offer to purchase this Daimler, but any offer which will be considered must be a five digit number which begins with a 3!
