If there is one Ferrari of the last decades that reflects true 'driving emotion', it surely is the 458 Speciale.
As with all Ferrari special series, the 458 Speciale is loaded with advanced technical solutions that make it a completely unique model. It was designed for owners looking for an even more focused sports car, offering a combination of extreme driving pleasure for both on road and track.
When it was unveiled in 2013, it was described as the fastest and most advanced mid-engined V8 that ever left the Maranello factory. New was the Slide Slip Control (SSC) system that resulted in higher cornering speeds without losing the feeling of safety. It was a car for true Ferraristi that was developed in the time that Luca di Montezemolo was deeply involved in these factory's 'prestige' projects. He called it 'on of the true greats' and by the time the 458 Speciale was launched, everybody wanted to have one!
Compared to the 458 Italia, the Speciale lost 90 kilograms by a carbon fibre-based diet. The power output comes from a naturally aspirated V8, delivering 605 hp at 9000 rpm, making it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever built in Maranello. Its specific power output of 135 hp/ l was and still is a world record for normal aspirated road going engines. It also featured the LaFerrari's carbon-ceramic brakes and an advanced gearbox with 44% faster downshifts and 20% faster upshifts! The downforce increased significantly and the bigger 20 inch wheels and upgraded suspension in combination with SSC, made the 458 Speciale the ultimate race car for the open road.
One of only 1, 309 cars produced, this highly desirable Speciale was delivered new in Italy finished in Nero with matching interior and contrasting yellow details. The car has had only two owners from new and currently displays a total of 72, 000 kilometres on the odometer. It has been used on a regular basis on the road only and impresses with a very powerful, reactive engine and gearbox. The seats have yellow inlays and stitching and plentiful carbon-fibre details. Other notable features include Scuderia shields, a parking camera, factory fitted titanium tail ends and integrated audio and navigation system.
It comes with an extra set of winter tyres and a bespoke Goodwool cover. Presented in generally excellent condition, this beautiful Italian-registered Ferrari supercar is offered with full service history; the service book having been stamped by Forza Service, the official Ferrari Service Centre in Turin.
A nice opportunity to acquire a true Ferrari supercar of its generation. The 458 Speciale was the end of an era of naturally aspirated Ferrari's and for that specific reason, well sought after!
