Built by Dave Degens, 750cc, Rare Classic Motorcycle in exceptional condition
Established by Dave Degens in 1961, Dresda builds bespoke road & race motorcycles. Best known for the Dresda Triton, the company makes hand built frames for engines from every leading manufacturer. This particular motorcycle was build by Dave Degens in 2000, using a heavily modified Triumph 6T pre unit engine (6T-46941) dating from 1953 and a modified Norton slimline frame (18-103892) dating from 1962 with Dresda box section swinging arm and Triton modifications on the front loop as well as Dresda modified headstock and yokes. Triumph forks were used with external springs, the front wheel has an alloy rim with stove enamelled twin leading shoe brake supplied by Dresda with stainless steel spokes. The rear wheel is a stove enamelled Manx hub with stainless steels spokes. The engine specification used Morgo barrel and pistons with a gas flowed head with larger valves. The crank is a one part balanced crank with Morgo high pressure oil pump. It includes several modifications made by Dresda. The carburettors are Amal 900 32mm concentrics. It also has the modified crank cases to take the high output alternator with the timing disk attached. It uses a four speed gearbox with the mainsheet modification carried out by Dresda. The clutch is a Tony Hayward belt drive system with Alloy anodised clutch basket. All engine plates and foot pegs are alloy and supplied and fitted by Dresda. The bike starts and runs very well and the gold star exhaust silencers sounding lovely. Presented in excellent condition, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine Dresda Triton that could cost upwards of £20, 000 to put together today. It has been part of an enthusiast’s private collection of 1950s and ’60s classic bikes for the last few years and has been stored in a heated garage. A rare opportunity to acquire a real piece of British motorcycle history. Everyone knows that the best café racers are Tritons, and the best Tritons are made by Dresda.
