The TVR Chimaera 450 is an engaging modern classic open-top British sports car, coming to marking after a long period of ownership from an in store collector.
Finished in a period correct and original colour combination, with its typically quirky features such as the door pops under the wing mirrors – this little TVR Chimaera has really got under our skin.
As you will likely know under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 4. 5-litre V8, delivering power to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. Reading up I wasn’t aware just how quick these were – quoting an official 0-62 time of 4. 7 seconds.
It rides on a set of 15-inch five-spoke alloy wheels shod in Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres. The car presents well which particularly good bodywork. Some value could be added improving some of the honest patina in the form of age related marks or one could simply use it off the bat for guilt free driving.
Equipment and specification includes, Crystal Verde paintwork, a top-tinted windscreen, electrically adjustable door mirrors, and heater and ventilation controls and a removable hard top which is still with the car.
Pound for pound, this curvaceous car with its lively V8 and five-speed manual gearbox really calls into question why you need to spend much more for some true British fun.
