The Opel Manta GTE is a classic sports coupe produced by the German automaker Opel. It was part of the Opel Manta lineup, which was popular in the 1970s and 1980s. The Manta GTE was introduced in 1973 and was positioned as a more powerful and sportier version of the standard Opel Manta.
The Opel Manta GTE was typically equipped with a 1. 9-liter inline-four-cylinder engine. It produced around 105 to 110 horsepower, depending on the version and year. With its relatively lightweight design and sporty tuning, the Manta GTE offered good performance for its time. It could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/ h) in around 10 seconds and had a top speed of approximately 110 to 115 mph (177 to 185 km/ h) It came with a manual transmission, typically a 4-speed or 5-speed gearbox, which allowed for greater driver engagement.
The GTE featured a distinctive and iconic design with its sleek coupe body, pop-up headlights, and aggressive front grille. Its sporty appearance made it a favorite among car enthusiasts of its era. It also had a well-balanced chassis and suspension setup, which contributed to its good handling characteristics.
The Opel Manta GTE is remembered as a classic sports coupe from the 1970s and 1980s. It has a very strong following in the Uk and Europe and examples like this are becoming increasingly hard to find.
