This Defender has been in the care of its current custodian for three years as part of a fleet of cossetted vehicles in rural Dorset. Consequently, it has been little used, covering approximately 5500 miles since May 2021. Recent maintenance has included the fitting of a new crankshaft sensor in September of this year, and in June, the starter motor connections were cleaned and the clutch pivot was freed up and the springs replaced. In 2021, the rear axle ball joint, front axle breather pipe, drag link ball joint boot, heater box fan, steering damper bush, track rod ends, thermostat and drop arm boot were all replaced. The brakes were also bled, both front swivels including the housings were overhauled and the Defender was also remapped.
The panel work, floor, chassis and underside are described as good by the vendor. Inside the double cab, the original upholstery is worn or torn in a couple of places, all commensurate for its age and in very usable order. Instrumentation is thought to be working and the Alpine radio is a later addition. Mechanically the Land Rover is good with no known issues, apart from a slight leak from the cooling system. With its current MOT, this now very desirable and versatile double-cab workhorse is ready for the road.
The history file contains MOT test certificates, invoices, an old V5C and the current V5C registration certificate.

The vendor has advised us that the slight leak from the cooling system, as mentioned above, is possibly from the lower hose area of the radiator and is very minor.
