Description
This LSE version of the classic Range Rover dates from the last couple of years of production (the last Range Rover Classic being built in 1996). The final LSE models represented what was the ultimate evolution of the original 1970's model: the wheelbase was increased to provide more rear legroom, the V8 engine enlarged in capacity, EAS air suspension and the dashboard upgraded along with a driver and passenger airbag. This car was first sold via Land Rover dealer Harwoods, the first owner keeping the car for three years, it was then sold to it's next owner, a London-based lady who kept the car for just over a year, before it was purchased by Lord Norman Tebbit, previously an MP and part of the Cabinet through much of the 1980's, and becoming a member of the house of Lords in 1992. The car stayed with Lord Tebbit until 2010 when it was passed to his son, with whom it has remained until now. The car is finished in Coniston Green, a colour that would have been a rare choice in the 1990's when bright metallic colours were far more fashionable. The interior is dark grey leather with wood trim, electrically adjustable seats, air conditioning and the afore-mentioned "soft" dashboard which was a huge improvement over the original 1970's derived dashboard used previously. The car has covered just over 107, 000 miles and has been in regular use throughout its life, evidenced by the history file featuring invoices throughout Lord Tebbit's ownership as well as MOT certificates dating back to the vehicles first, in 1997. This Range Rover will be supplied directly from Land Rover Classic with a 12 month warranty, having been prepared and serviced by our workshop.
