The Bentley Continental GT, introduced in 2003, marked a pivotal moment in Bentley's history as it signalled the brand's revival under Volkswagen Group ownership. It was the first Bentley to be produced using mass production techniques, combining luxury with high-performance engineering. The Continental GT was powered by a 6. 0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 engine, producing over 550 horsepower, and featured all-wheel drive, which was a departure from Bentley’s traditional rear-wheel-drive models. With its mix of cutting-edge technology, opulent interior, and unmistakable design, the Continental GT became an instant success, broadening Bentley's appeal to a new generation of buyers. Capitalising on that success, Bentley introduced the GTC with its triple-lined fabric roof in 2006. Famously, Bentley alleged a top speed of 200 mph with the top up, 195 mph top down.
We are delighted to offer this 2008 Bentley Continental GTC in Silver Tempest with Portland / Beluga leather. First registered in April 2008 and supplied by Bentley Ribble Valley, it has had 4 former keepers. The service history is excellent with the book recording 16 stamps, all from Bentley except the last two at marque specialists, GT Services Cheshire. The last service was May 2024 at 55, 058 miles.
The car presents beautifully with good paint and a clean fabric roof which is free from any obvious damage. We’ve had the roof up and down for our photographs without any issues. The wheels are particularly striking, being the 20” split rims shod with matching Pirelli P Zero tyres. The interior is classic Bentley, with dark burr walnut inserts and cream leather, which has no right to be this clean after 16 years. The secondary leather is black with cream stitching, matching perfectly the embroidered Bentley crests on the seats. The headlining is clean and free from any rips and tears. These GTC roofs are something special, triple layered with a super thick middle layer to provide maximum acoustic and thermal insulation and an inner layer which hides all the mechanical parts. Indeed, when inside you would think you were in coupe rather than a convertible, right down to the vanity light in the middle of the roof. The specification is as high as you would expect from a luxury GT, with all the usual toys - we believe it was even spec’d with a TV function for the centre screen.
The car comes with V5C, leatherbound manual, service book, current and some old MOTs, navigation DVDs (including update discs from 2014/ 15), two key fobs and a tracker fob with embossed leather pouch. A nice touch is the Bentley-branded trickle charger which plugs into a socket in the boot.
Arguably, the best luxury grand tourer of the last 20 years, every journey in a Continental GTC is an event from the delicious-sounding and mega-powerful W12 quad-turbo motor, the fabulous ride / handling balance courtesy of sophisticated air suspension, to the beauty and tactility of the finest interior materials. Being so useable means that many have had hard lives, with high miles and tatty interiors. This is not one of those cars. On the contrary, the general condition and strong service history suggest a series of caring owners and a car that represents an exceptional value proposition.
